Box Score Bismarck, N.D. – The Minnesota State University volleyball took to the road as it faced conference foe University of Mary, 3-1, behind a valiant effort by senior outside hitter #Chelsea Fogarty# who recorded a match-high 17 kills and added 13 digs for her third consecutive double-double.

In the first set of the match the Mavericks held a 23-21 lead before the Marauders went on a 5-1 run to win the set, 26-24, in a set that featured 16 ties.

Minnesota State rallied in the second set defeating Mary by a score of 25-20 to bring the match to a 1-1 tie. The Mavericks trailed the Marauders 10-8 before going on an 8-2 run to take a 16-12 lead when the Marauders called a timeout. Mary would bring it to as close as 22-19, before Minnesota State went on a 3-1 run to end the set.

The Mavericks carried the momentum from the second set as they defeated the Marauders 25-18 to take the 2-1 lead in the match. Minnesota State was led in the set by Fogarty who recorded four kills in the set.

Minnesota State was able to come away with the 25-20 win in the fourth set, winning the match 3-1, and improving to 13-5 on the season and 7-3 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Fogarty recorded seven kills in the set to propel the Mavericks past the Marauders.

Senior outside hitter #Courteney Steinhauser# added 13 kills while hitting .333, to compliment Fogarty while senior middle blocker Jill Storlie recorded 11 kills and a team high three blocks.

The Mavericks return to action Saturday as they travel to Minot State, game-time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
