Mavericks at Wayne State, Followed by Nonconference Tilt at Gustavus

On Tap: Minnesota State, 18-8 overall, 11-3 in the NSIC, hits the road for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference twinbill at Wayne State Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., then travel to St. Peter, Minn. for a nonconference contest with Gustavus on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

A Look at the Wildcats: The Wayne State Wildcats owns a 12-10 overall mark, and are 5-3 in NSIC action...In Wayne State's last action, the Wildcats swept Mary in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader...Travis Parsons leads the Wildcats with a team-best .419 batting average, while also racking up 18 hits, a team-best three triples, two homers and 21 RBI...Mike Bisenius sits second on the team with a .400 batting average and is the owner of a team-high 30 hits...Bisenius also owns team-bests with 10 doubles, three home runs and 23 RBI...On the mound, pitcher Jerad Barth leads the Wildcats, with a 3-2 record, 5.08 ERA, six games started and a team-high 33 strikeouts.

A Look at the Gusties: The Gustavus Adolphus currently own a 3-11 overall mark and are 1-3 in the MIAC...In GAC's last action, the Gusties split with St. Mary's, dowing them 10-2 in game one, then dropping game two, 8-2...Taylor Fish leads the Gusties with a .385 batting average, 15 hits, including two doubles and a triple...Cody Sukalski has also produced for the Gusties, batting at a .327 clip, including a team-high 17 hits, a team-high 10 runs scored and team-best eight RBI...On the mound, Sukalski also leads the Gusties with a 1-0 record, 4.91 ERA, two games started and five strikeouts.

Last Week:
Minnesota State started its week at Concordia for a pair NSIC contests, defeating the Golden Bears 11-1 and 12-2...The Mavericks and Bulldogs then played a UMD home series in Mankato due to poor field conditions in Duluth, Minn., with the Mavericks taking all four of them by scores of 4-3, 5-4, 9-0 and 17-2...Senior  outfielder
Aaron Berner led the team with a .529 batting average, going 9-for-17 at the plate, including two double and his first homer of the season...Berner also scored a team-high 11 runs and had 10 RBI...Another successful Maverick at the plate was junior infielder Matt Kuchenbecker who went 9-for-24 with a team-high 13 RBI and five runs scored...Kuchenbecker also hit a team-best four doubles and hit two sacrifice flies...On the mound, senior Danny Miller (5-1), junior Blake Schwartz (5-1), junior Ben Kincaid (1-1), senior Luke Putz (3-1), freshman Bryce Bellin (2-0) and freshman Jason Hoppe (1-0) each improved their records victories.

Win #100: Minnesota State head coach Matt Magers and his team picked up win number 18 of the season, bumping his career record to 100-41, becoming the third MSU coach to earn 100 win in a career in baseball program history...The two others to reach 100 career wins was Jean McCarthy (250-127) and Dean Bowyer (990-487-7)...Magers was the quickest of the three coaches to reach the milestone, accomplishing the feat in 141 games.
