Mankato, Minn.—  Minnesota State was beat 67-53 in its final home game of the season by Concordia, St. Paul Saturday afternoon. The Mavericks finish with a 9-5 record at the Taylor Center this season, as the three remaining regular season games are on the road.

Minnesota State jumped out to an early 6-3 lead to open the game. Concordia went on a 15-3 run to jump ahead of MSU 18-9 in the first eight minutes of the game.

From that point on the Golden Bears held a double-digit lead the entire half until Sophomore Sarah Wiens knocked a shot from downtown in with 2:02 remaining in the half, bringing the Mavericks within eight.

Junior Laura Weber led Minnesota State’s offensive attack in the first half with ten points and four boards. The Mavericks shot 12-of-32 for 37 percent from the floor and 2-of-9 from three-point land. Weber would finish with 14 points and nine rebounds in the game, making it her second-straight game scoring in double-digits.

Concordia’s Zoraa Quoie led the Golden Bears with nine points in the half and four rebounds. Concordia shot 14-of-28 and 3-of-7 from downtown. Quoie would end the day with a double-double collecting 13 points and ten rebounds.
