Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State fell by a 6-2 margin against seventh-rated Colorado College in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato Saturday night.

After two periods of play, Colorado College increased its lead to 3-1 with Schwartz scoring his second goal of the game after he finished off a nice series of passes at the 4:43 mark

It became a four-goal CC cushion early in the third period with
Eamonn McDermott scoring just one minute into the period on another power play and shortly after, at the 4:19 mark,
Joe Marciano rifled the puck past Lee giving the Tigers a 5-1 advantage. The Mavericks cut into the lead when senior forward
Michael Dorr scored a shorthanded goal after stealing the puck from the Tigers in the middle of the ice and scored on a breakaway. The goal was unassisted and Dorr’s fourth of the year. Colorado College rounded out the scoring in the game after
William Rapuzzi scored on an empty net, giving the Tigers a 6-2 advantage.
MSU’s Lee was credited with 38 saves in the game, while Colorado College’s Josh Thorimbert stopped 24 shots. The Tigers were three-for-eight in power play chances and MSU was one-for-five. The Tigers outshot the Mavericks 44-26.
Colorado College improves to 11-5-0 overall and 9-5-0 in league play, while the Mavericks fall to 5-14-1 overall and 2-11-1 in the WCHA, the Mavericks take next weekend off prior to hosting an exhibition contest with the U.S. U18 team Friday, Dec. 30.
