Minnesota State is in third place after the second day of the 2010 NCAA Division II regional

Mavericks Stand Third after 36 Holes at 2010 NCAA Division II Regional

 LAKE CITY, MINN. --- The Minnesota State women’s golf team stands in third place after the second round of the 2010 NCAA Central Regional Golf Tournament. 
The three-day, nine-team tournament is being contested at The Jewel in Lake City, Minn. 
The Mavericks – who shot a 334 for the day and have a 36-hole team total of 657 – rank behind Augustana, which has a 643 total, and Western New Mexico, which owns a 655 total.  As mentioned, the Mavericks are third at 657 and Winona State is fourth at 661.  Concordia-St. Paul rounds out the top five teams at 659. 
Senior Kassie Ellsworth, who carded a team-best 78 today, is the top-ranking Maverick with her two-day total of 158 placing her third in the individual standings.  Senior Jaymie Halvorson fired has a 36-hole total of 164 and is tied for 17th,  junior Kathleen Ritter is tied for 20th at 165, sophomore Samantha Bergmann is tied for 31st at 170 and and sophomore Lisa Moline is tied for 44th at 178.
Augustana’s Emily Kvidera leads the individual standings with a +7, two-round total of 152.
The last 18 holes of the tournament are scheduled to get underway at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow (Tuesday). 
The top three teams and top three individuals not with a team advance to the NCAA Division II national championship tournament, which takes place May 12-15 in Mesa, Ariz.
