Brandon, S.D. — The Minnesota State women’s golf team finished in third place at the 2010 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships which took place in Brandon, S.D., the last three days.
Augustana captured team honors at the par 71, 5,905-yard Brandon Golf Course. The Vikings, who totalled 950 in the 54-hole event, were followed by Concordia (957), Minnesota State (974) and Southwest Minnesota State (983). Winona State (991) rounded out the top five of the 12-team tournament.
Augustana’s
Emily Kvidera shot a 13-over 226 to claim medalist honors as the 2010 NSIC individual champion.
Samantha Bergmann, who carded a 26-over 239 on rounds of 80, 79 and 80, finished as the top Minnesota State individual in tying for seventh place.
Kathleen Ritter tied for tenth with a three-round total of 241.
Jaymie Halvorson (243) tied for 14th,
Lisa Moline (251) was 22nd and
Kassie Ellsworth (253) was 24th.

Next action for the Mavericks will be the the 2010 NCAA North Regional, which is slated for May 2-4 at the Jewel in Lake City, Minn. MSU was the top-rated team in North Region in the most-recent rankings released by the NCAA April 15.
