Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women’s swimming and diving team hosted a diving invitational with Gustavus Adolphus Saturday afternoon in the Highland Pool on the campus of Minnesota State University.
In the women’s one-meter dive, senior Janel Duffy won the 11-dive event with a score of 400.40. Sophomore Beth Keskey took third with a score of 363.85 while freshman Cristen Norman was sixth with a total of 315.85 points.
In the three-meter dive, Duffy scored a total of 409.75, which was good for first. Keskey came in second with 382.75 points, while Norman was fifth with 308.0.
Duffy’s point total in the one-meter dive surpassed the NCAA qualifying mark (390) and she narrowly missed the mark in the three-meter dive (420).
Minnesota State returns to action in the pool and on the diving boards next weekend when it travels to Omaha, Neb., to take part in the Midwest Conference Championship. The four-day long event begins Thursday.
