About the MSU-CC Series: The Mavericks went 0-2-0 in games with the Colorado College last year and trail in the all-time series with CC by a 12-27-1 margin. MSU’s top active scorer vs. CC is senior defenseman Kurt Davis (0-5-5 in eight games) and head coach Troy Jutting owns an all-time record of 9-22-1 vs. the Tigers.
Most Recently: Minnesota State is 0-1-3 for 2010-11 going 0-1-1 in a pair of WCHA games played at Michigan Tech last weekend. The Mavericks were tied 2-2 with the Huskies near the end the second period of Friday’s game, before MTU tallied a pair of power play markers to take control en route to a 5-2 win. Then, in Saturday’s rematch, three MSU defensemen scored goals at the Mavericks battled the Huskies to a 5-5 overtime draw. For the weekend the Mavericks outshot the Huskies by a 83-59 margin. MSU was 1-for-11 in power play chances, while Michigan Tech converted on 3-of-13 opportunities with the man advantage.
