Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State woman’s golf team is in fourth place out of nine teams after the first round of play at the NCAA Division II Super Regional 3. The tournament consists of three 18-hole rounds at the Westward Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls, S.D. After the first round of play the Mavericks team score is 329, which is sixteen strokes behind the leader.
Leading the way for the Mavericks was sophomore Leah Grozdanich shooting a 78 which is good enough for fourth place out of the field of 48 golfers. Close behind is Samantha Bergmann, Bergmann shot an 82(t-12). Junior Jaymie Halvorson carded an 83(t-18). Rounding out the Minnesota State scorers was junior Kassie Ellsworth, 86(t-27) and freshman Lisa Moline, 87(t-30).
The Minnesota State women continue play today, May 5th.
