Emily Antony enters her third season as an assistant coach for the women’s hockey program. A Maverick alumnus, Antony graduated in 2020 with bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science and Psychology with a minor in Sports Medicine.
With Antony on staff, Minnesota State skated to a 14-21-2 record in 2024-25 and a 17-19-2 record in 2025-26, a win total that established a new school record for victories in a season.
During her time at Minnesota State the Mavericks have collected six wins over teams ranked in the top ten, including four wins in 2025-26 as Minnesota State swept second-ranked Minnesota in a home-and-home series, winning 3-1 at Ridder Arena before picking up a 4-1 victory at home. Additionally, the Mavericks defeated ninth-ranked Minnesota Duluth, two games to one, in the best of three series to open the WCHA Playoffs, advancing to the Final Faceoff for just the second time in program history.
This past season freshman Mercury Bischoff was named to the WCHA’s All-Rookie team after posting 29 points on 19 goals and ten assists. Her 19 goals led the team and were the most by a Maverick rookie. Additionally, Bischoff was a finalist for the WCHA’s Rookie of the Year award.
As a senior student-athlete, Antony was captain of the Mavericks in 2019-20. She skated in 37 games in her final season and became the 20th player to reach 50 career points after scoring against Minnesota Duluth.
Antony finished with 70 career points, which ranked ninth in school history at the time of her graduation. She also tied the school record with 145 games played from 2015-20. Her collegiate accolades include WCHA Scholar-Athlete (x4), WCHA All-Academic Team, Dean's List, SAAC Member, and Minnesota State Rookie of the Year (2015-16).
Originally from Rogers, Minnesota, Antony played lacrosse and hockey at Rogers High School. Following her collegiate career, Antony served as Assistant Equipment Manager at University of Colorado for student-athletes in football, lacrosse, women's golf and women's basketball.
Antony gained experience as a hockey coach for the Minnesota Advancement Program, where she instructed clinic sessions and tournaments for girls' hockey players between ages 10-18. In her role, Antony mentored players and helped them develop confidence, teamwork and on-ice skills. She also completed a physical therapy internship with the Minnesota Twins in 2019.
