Biography

2012-13: Set the program's single-season goals record, while amassing the second-highest point total ... Racked up 24-13--37 to give her team-highs in goals and points, while also leading the squad with a record 152 shots on goal ... Led the team with nine power-play goals, four game-winning markers and added a game-tying goal ... Tied for 20th nationally in game-winning goals, 11th in total goals scored and fifth in power-play goals ... Recorded her first career hat trick Nov. 23 against Bemidji State and tied a career-high with four points off a pair of goals and assists Jan. 1 at Lindenwood ... Selected Third Team All-WCHA becoming only the second Maverick to earn All-WCHA accolades ... A 2012-13 WCHA Scholar-Athlete award winner and an All-WCHA Academic Team member ... Completes her career third all-time in scoring at MSU with 44-50--94 in 141 career games played, while finishing second in career goals and assists.

2011-12: She tallied a two-goal game against #6 North Dakota Nov. 18th...Tied for team-lead in goals (9), points (19), and power-play goals (3)...Added ten assists and a team-high 120 shots on the season...Owner of a team-high 22 penalties for 63 minutes.

2010-11: Played in all 36 games and owned the team-high in shots (104) and assists (11)...She also owned a team-high 24 penalties for 48 minutes...Owner of a 4-11--15 last season…Had two-point performances against St. Cloud State Nov. 16th and Ohio State Jan. 14th…Had one power-play goal and one short-hander.


2009-10: Finished second on the team in points with 7-16--23 and first in assists (16)...The rookie tallied three contests in which she earned three points...The first being the season-opening win at Maine, a 7-6 loss at Ohio State and the 3-4 playoff loss to Minnesota at the end of the season.

THE SMITH FILE: Played in two sports in high school, hockey and track and field, at the Academy of Holy Angels...Started her hockey career in seventh grade...Six year letter winner in hockey in which the Holy Angels were conference champions all six years...Helped her team to a state championship her freshman season...Also made the USA 18 team against Canada...Daughter of Britton and Joan Smith...Is a proposed law enforcement major.
