BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Sophomore defender Lucie Tenenbaum has been named the WCHA Defender of the Week for her performance in the season opening series against RPI.

Tenenbaum was a key piece of the blue line over the weekend. In Saturday's 5-3 win she finished with a goal and an assist. She assisted Mercury Bischoff's second goal of the game and then potted an empty netter from the Maverick red line to put the game away. She finished the weekend +4, tied for best among Maverick defenders, and blocked three shots.

The Redwood City, California native has appeared in 40 games for the Mavericks, scoring two goals and adding six assists. She will be competing with the Swiss National Team in the Euro Hockey World Tour this week in Finland.
