WACO, Texas --- Behind a 30-13 win over Bemidji State at Blakeslee Stadium this past weekend, the Minnesota State football team held its #4 spot in the in the most recent edition of the AFCA Poll. The Mavericks also held steady in the #3 spot in the D2Football.com Poll.

The Mavericks received a total of 668 points to hold the fourth spot in the AFCA poll. MSU improved to 3-0 on the season as it bested the Beavers 30-13 in front of 6,911 fans in its home opener at Blakeslee Stadium. The attendance of 6,911 was the fifth largest attendance in team history at Blakeslee Stadium and the largest for a home opener.

Ferris State remains atop the poll with 775 points, including all 31 of the first-place votes. Harding held the second spot with 744 points also, with Kutztown following in third with 705 points. Ferris State bested #9 Central Washington 28-14 on the, while Harding defeated Southwestern Oklahoma 37-14. Kutztown topped Clarion 45-14 as well.

MSU is one of two NSIC teams ranked in the AFCA Poll. Minnesota Duluth improved to 14th in the poll after defeating Wayne State 20-13 on the road. Northern State and Wayne State are receiving votes.

The Mavericks held the third spot in the D2Football.com Poll this week also. Ferris State held the top spot in the poll also, with Harding following in second. Kutztown (fourth) and Northwest Missouri State (fifth) rounded out the top-five.

Minnesota State continues its season at home this Saturday as it hosts Northern State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Blakeslee Stadium.
