Maverick Athletics Announces New Hires

6/10/2026 11:04:00 AM

MANKATO, Minn. --- Following the resignation of Senior Deputy Director for Internal Operations, Tim Marshall, Minnesota State Director of Athletics Kevin Buisman announced departmental restructuring and a strategic realignment of responsibilities designed to better position Maverick Athletics for future growth and the increasing complexity of the collegiate athletics environment. Marshall, who was a mainstay in the Maverick Athletics Department for 27 years, retired earlier this month.

"Tim Marshall's impact on Maverick Athletics is immeasurable," said Buisman. "For more than 27 years, he served our student-athletes, coaches, staff and university with unwavering dedication, professionalism and integrity. While we will certainly miss his leadership and institutional knowledge, his retirement also provided us with an opportunity to reimagine our organizational structure and position our department to meet the evolving demands of intercollegiate athletics. We are grateful for Tim's remarkable service and excited about the direction these changes will take us moving forward."

Kassidy Siedow joins the Mavericks in a full-time capacity as an Assistant Director of Athletics for Sport Operations after spending the last two years as a graduate assistant.  Siedow, who graduated this spring from MSU with a master's degree in sport management, is also a 2024 graduate of Minnesota Morris. Siedow joins Trista Smith as an Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Operations.  Smith, who will receive her master's degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State this December, began with the Mavericks as a full-time employee in July 2025, after spending time as both a student intern (bachelor's degree-'24 ) and a graduate assistant.  Together, they will oversee game management, game presentation, concessions and on-campus ticketing.

"Kassidy and Trista represent the future of Maverick Athletics operations," said Buisman. "Both have grown within our department, understand our expectations and have demonstrated the leadership, organizational skills and commitment necessary to oversee many of the critical functions that support our student-athletes and enhance the Maverick game-day experience. Their energy, experience and passion will make them an outstanding team."
Minnesota State alum Jeremy Christoffels returns to the Maverick department following stints with the NCAA (2022-2026), the NSIC (2017-22) and the University of Mary (2016-17).  Christoffels, who owns a bachelor's degree ('12) and master's degree ('16) from Minnesota State, will join the Mavericks as a Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Internal Operations. He will oversee internal operations for Minnesota State's 20 sports.

"Jeremy brings a unique combination of institutional knowledge, conference-level experience and a national perspective gained through his work with the NCAA," said Buisman. "As a two-time Minnesota State graduate, he understands what makes Maverick Athletics special and his broad experience across multiple levels of intercollegiate athletics will be invaluable as we continue to navigate a rapidly changing landscape."

Additionally, Morgan Goedken has been named as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Student Engagement and will also serve as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Goedken owns a master's degree from Minnesota State in Sport Management ('21).  Goedken has been a member of the Maverick Athletics staff since 2019, serving in a variety of roles, including time with the softball program.

"Morgan has earned this opportunity through her outstanding work, commitment to our student-athletes and steady growth as a leader within our department," said Buisman. "She has taken on an increasing level of responsibility throughout her time at Minnesota State and has consistently demonstrated a deep understanding of compliance, student-athlete welfare and organizational leadership. We also look forward to leveraging her expertise in business and finance to further strengthen that aspect of our operation.  All of these experiences have prepared Morgan to be an outstanding Senior Woman Administrator and a key member of our leadership team moving forward."
