BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior Braxton Stewart has been named the NSIC Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the ESU Midwest Classic last week.

A senior from Waukon, Iowa, Stewart finished first in the decathlon event at the ESU Midwest Classic as he recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying score of 6,788 points. He took first place in four events in the decathlon including the discus (38.94m, 127-9), high jump (1.87m, 6-1.50), pole vault (4.20m, 13-9.25) and shot put (13.86m, 45-5.75).

Minnesota State continues its season this Wednesday as it hosts the Stomper Open at the Mark Schuck Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
