MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State volleyball team wraps up a four match road series this weekend when they take on Jamestown on Friday at 6 p.m. at Harold Newman Arena and Northern State on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wachs Arena.

About the Mavericks

The Mavericks began their road trip in Duluth, Minnesota last week when they battled another top-15 opponent, No. 14 Minnesota Duluth. MSU hit .227 for the match, while holding UMD to .182 for the match. The Mavericks as a team accumulated 11 aces. Avery Klein continued her offensive hot streak with a team high 13 kills. She totaled nine kills which was second most on the team and led the team in blocks with six. The Mavericks would win the match 24-26, 25-22, 25-19, 28-26.

The next day, MSU traveled to Bemidji to take on the Beavers of Bemidji State. A late 5-1 run by BSU helped propel them to win the first set. In the second set, the Mavericks had a better hitting percentage than Bemidji, however, another late run by the Beavers helped sneak it out the second set against the Mavericks. In the third set, MSU had three different set points, but each time was spoiled by a kill from the Beavers. The Mavericks lost 20-25, 25-27, 28-30. Klein led MSU in kills with 13 followed by Avery Rosenberg and Sturgis each with nine.
