MANKATO, Minn. — Thirteenth-ranked Minnesota State skated to a 0–0 tie with ninth-ranked Minnesota Duluth on Friday night at Mayo Clinic HSEC before falling in a shootout. The Mavericks move to 11-12-2 overall and 5-12-2 in WCHA play.

Hailey Hansen recorded her fifth shutout of the season, stopping 28 shots as MSU held the Bulldogs scoreless through regulation and overtime. Minnesota State controlled much of the third period, firing 21 shots, but could not break through.
The game remained scoreless through overtime, and the Bulldogs earned the extra point in the shootout.
The last time Minnesota State was involved in a scoreless tie was Feb. 4, 2003, also against Minnesota Duluth.
