MANKATO, Minn. – Minnesota State women's hockey fell to No. 9 Minnesota Duluth 3-0 Saturday afternoon at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Eve Gascon marked back-to-back shutout performances for the Bulldogs, including 24 saves against the Mavericks Saturday.
 
The Mavericks (11-13-2, 5-13-2 WCHA) visit Bemidji State for a series beginning on Friday, January 30 at 6 p.m. CT.
 
Thea Johansson started with an even strength goal for UMD at 18:24 of the first period. Madi Burr and Grace Sadura assisted. Zoey Krock scored at 4:40 of the second period for the Bulldogs and Madi Burr added the third goal of the game at 13:09 of the second period.
 
Shots on goal favored Minnesota Duluth 30-24. The two teams tied 0-0 on Friday and UMD won a shootout following 3-on-3 overtime.
 
Saturday, both teams went scoreless on the power play with two opportunities apiece. Hailey Hansen made 21 saves in goal for the Mavericks and Makayla Moran led MSU with four shots on goal.
 
Minnesota Duluth (13-10-2, 9-8-3 WCHA) travels to No. 2 Ohio State next weekend.
