MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State men's hockey was ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division I men's hockey by USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live on Monday (Jan. 12). The Mavericks fell to St. Thomas 4-2 on Saturday at home. The Tommies appeared in the top 20 at No. 19/18. Fellow CCHA institution Augustana was ranked No. 15 with this week's opponent, Michigan Tech receiving national votes.
Michigan (18-4-0) remained the top team in the country this week in both polls, followed by Wisconsin (15-3-2), Western Michigan (16-6-0) Michigan State (15-5-0) and North Dakota (17-5-0).
The Mavericks (12-6-5, 8-4-3) are in third place in the CCHA standings and travel to face the Huskies Friday, Jan. 16 at 6:07 p.m. CT and Saturday, Jan. 17 at 5:07 p.m. CT.
