BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minnesota State senior defender
Courtney Kovacs has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week following her standout performances in the Mavericks' two shutout victories over UMary and Minot State. This is her second time earning NSIC honors in her collegiate career.
Kovacs tallied a goal and an assist across the weekend, she held Minot State to just three total shots, including only two on goal, in a 5-0 win. In the 2-0 victory over UMary, she helped limit the Marauders to 11 shots with only four on target. Across the two matches, Kovacs played 122 minutes.
Minnesota State returns home this weekend, hosting Northern State on Friday at 3 p.m. before facing Jamestown on Sunday at 1 p.m.
