MANKATO, Minn. --- Former Minnesota State men's basketball player
Kyreese Willingham has signed a professional contract with the Svenborg Rabbits of the Danish Basketligaen League.
A 6-5 guard from Waseca, Minn., Willingham played in 124 career games during his four seasons with the Mavericks. He finished his career at Minnesota State fourth all-time in scoring (1,725), seventh in steals (148), ninth in three pointers made (172) and tenth in blocks (102).
Willingham garnered All-NSIC First Team honors during his junior and senior seasons. He also garnered All-NABC Central Region Second Team and D2CCA All-Central Region First Team honors during his senior season. Willingham was also named the NCAA Central Region Tournament MVP in 2024, before going on to make the game-winning three pointer against Nova Southeastern in the final second of the NCAA Championship game.
Minnesota State opens its 2025-26 season at the CCA Tip-Off Classic in St. Joseph, Mo., on Oct. 31 as it takes on the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
