BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Minnesota State senior
Freia Lawrence (Mallorca, Spain) was named Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tennis Player of the Year by the conference office on Tuesday (May 13). Lawrence and
McKenna DeMarce were also named First Team All-NSIC singles.

Lawrence and
Avery Stilwell earned All-NSIC First Team doubles.
Elizabeth Felderman and
Hana Minisy were named Second Team All-NSIC singles. DeMarce and Felderman were also Second Team All-NSIC doubles.

Lawrence went 11-4 at No. 1 singles, including 7-2 in NSIC play. She teamed with Stilwell to go 13-3 at No. 1 doubles, undefeated (9-0) in NSIC matches. She has been named All-NSIC First Team three times in her career and helped MSU to an 8-1 NSIC record and a second place finish at the NSIC Tournament this spring. She is the second player from Minnesota State to win NSIC Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors (Marina Bugaenco, 2009).

DeMarce (Las Vegas, Nevada) had a stellar junior campaign and finished 12-3 at No. 3 singles, including 9-0 in NSIC matches. In doubles, DeMarce and Felderman (Mandan, N.D.) went 11-5 at No. 2 (7-2 vs. NSIC opponents).

Stilwell (Litchfield, Minnesota) was again All-NSIC Doubles First Team and All-NSIC Singles Second Team. She and Lawrence were nationally ranked in Division II by ITA and Stilwell also posted a winning singles record at No. 2. She will be a Graduate Assistant Coach for the Mavericks starting next season.

Minisy (Cairo, Egypt) closed out her senior season 9-1 at No. 4 singles. In doubles, she teamed with
Taina Cordeiro to go 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Minnesota State tennis finished the season 12-4 overall, 8-1 in NSIC play and made the NSIC Tournament Championship for the third straight season.
