MANAKTO, Minn. --- The offense of the Minnesota State football team defeated the defense 69-58 in their annual spring football game at Blakeslee Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore quarterback
Mitchell Thompson threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns, while freshman quarterback
Maximus Sim tallied 244 passing yards and a touchdown.
Senior
TreShawn Watson led the Maverick receiving corps with 10 catches for 177 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown catch from Sims. Watson also caught the longest pass of the day that went for 64 yards.
Freshman
Labarion Gilmore caught six passes for 103 yards also, including a pair of touchdown catches from Thompson that went for 10 and 20 yards.
Freshman
Max Snyder caught three passes for 48 yards also, including a 22-yard touchdown catch from Thompson.
Sims led the Maverick rushing attack with 33 yards. Freshman
Adam Glynn recorded a three-yard touchdown carry, while senior
Grant Guyett notched a five-yard touchdown run off a fake field goal attempt.
The Maverick defense forced a total of five turnovers during the game, including three interceptions. Freshman
Caden Johnson and sophomore
Rashad McKinley each returned an interception for a touchdown, while junior
Amaun Williams recorded the other interception.

Max Adams and sophomore
Ian Burau each recovered a fumble also. Adams also recorded one sack.

Joshua Marcinkevich led the team in tackles with five, while freshman
Isaak Sertich and freshman
Spencer Skjonsberg each recorded four tackles.

Logan Beaty blocked the only field goal attempt of the game also.
