AUSTIN, Texas --- Minnesota State seniors
Abby Gronholz and
Aspen Warnygora have been named CSC Academic All-Americans for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom.
Warnygora was named to the CSC Academic All-American Second Team, while Gronholz was named to the CSC Academic All-American Second Team. They join
Maggie Knier (2019 & 2020) as the only members of the Maverick swimming and diving team to receive CSC Academic All-American honors.
An All-American from Fort Collins, Colo.,
Aspen Warnygora garnered All-NSIC honors in the 3-meter diving event at the NSIC Championships. She was also named the NSIC Diver of the Year. Warnygora would go on to qualify for the NCAA Championships where she would garner All-American honors in the 1-meter diving event with a seventh place finish. She also finished 10th in the 3-meter diving event. Warnygora is majoring in communication sciences and disorders and owns a 3.97 GPA.
An All-American from Victoria, Minn.,
Abby Gronholz earned All-NSIC honors in four events at the NSIC Championships, including a second place finish in the 100 backstroke and a third place finish in the 200 backstroke. Gronholz went on to claim her third All-American honor in the 100 backstroke event at the NCAA Championships as she finished seventh. Gronholz owns a 3.58 GPA and is majoring in political science.
Minnesota State finished its 2024-25 season in 23rd place at the NCAA Championships.
