BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior
Aspen Warnygora has been named the NSIC Diver of the Year for her efforts this past season.
A diver from Fort Collins, Colo., Warnygora was named the NSIC Diver of the Week five times this past season. She would go on to earn All-NSIC honors in the 3-meter diving event at the NSIC Championships as she finished third with a score of 429.80.
Warnygora is the first Maverick to garner NSIC Diver of the Year honors. Former Maverick diver
Anne Eggert earned North Central Conference Most Valuable Diver honors back in 1985 and 1986.
At the NCAA Championships, Warnygora claimed All-American honors in the 1-meter diving event as she finished seventh with a score of 398.55. She also finished 10th in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 439.20. Warnygora was the first Maverick to earn All-American honors in the 1-meter diving event since
Janel Duffy did so back in 2010.
Minnesota State finished 23rd at the NCAA Championships as the Mavericks recorded 43 points.
