Four Mavericks Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

MANKATO, Minn. --- Four student-athletes from the Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team have been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom this past season.

Seniors Abby Gronholz, Aspen Warnygora, Kaylee Sivertsen and Maija Carriveau have all been named to the CSC Academic All-District Team and will now advance on to the Academic All-American ballot.

An All-American from Victoria, Minn., Abby Gronholz claimed All-NSIC honors in four events at the NCAA Championships this season, including a second place finish in the 100 backstroke and a third place finish in the 200 backstroke. Gronholz would go on to earn her third All-American honor in the 100 backstroke event at the NCAA Championships as she finished seventh. She owns a 3.58 GPA and is majoring in political science.

An All-American from Fort Collins, Colo., Aspen Warnygora earned All-NSIC honors in the 3-meter diving event at the NSIC Championships this season. She would later qualify for the NCAA Championships where she earned All-American honors in the 1-meter diving event with a seventh place finish. She also finished 10th in the 3-meter diving event at the NCAA Championships and was named the NSIC Diver of the Year. Warnygora is majoring in communication sciences and disorders and owns a 3.97 GPA.

An All-NSIC honoree from Mankato, Minn., Kaylee Sivertsen earned All-NSIC honors as a member of the 800 freestyle relay and the 200 freestyle relay teams. She has been named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence three times. Sivertsen is majoring in finance and owns a 3.90 GPA.

An All-NSIC honoree from Marinette, Wis., Maija Carriveau claimed All-NSIC honors as a member of the 200 medley relay, the 400 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams this past season. Carriveau has earned four All-NSIC honors during her career and has been named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence three times. She also competed in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay events at the NCAA Championships this past season. Carriveau is majoring in biochemistry and owns a 3.96 GPA.

Minnesota State finished its 2024-25 season in 23rd place at the NCAA Championships.
