Mavericks Sweep Beavers in Dominant Sunday Doubleheader

MANKATO, Minn. – The Minnesota State Mavericks wrapped up their weekend series, taking both games of Sunday's doubleheader against Bemidji State at Bowyer Field with final scores of 12-0 and 10-6.

Game 1 – MSU 12 BSU 0
The Mavericks came out firing in the opener, blanking the Beavers with a relentless offensive showing and a shutout performance on the mound.

After scoring a run in the first, MSU poured it on with three unearned runs in the third—highlighted by a three-run home run from Lincoln Berry. The Mavericks exploded for five more in the fourth, fueled by RBI hits from Aidan Byrne, Jake Berkland, Brady Jurgella, and Berry, who finished the game with four RBIs.
The pitching staff kept Bemidji State in check all afternoon, allowing just two hits through seven innings while stranding five runners.

Game 2 – MSU 10 BSU 6
Bemidji State struck first in game two, putting up three runs in the top of the second, but the Mavericks wasted no time responding. After scoring in the first, they added three more in the second to reclaim the lead.

The middle innings belonged to MSU, with steady contributions from Berkland, Berry, and Matthew Fleischhacker, who each reached base multiple times. Solid defensive work and clutch hits helped Minnesota State maintain control, even as the Beavers attempted a late rally.

The Mavericks have improved to a 30-3 overall record and a 23-2 conference record. MSU will host Sioux Falls at Bowyer Field on Tuesday for a double header at 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
