2025 Summer: Duluth Huskies (Northwoods League)

2025: Appeared in six games for the Mavericks, including one start on the mound... Pitched 8.0 innings and held a 3.38 earned run average and a 0-0 record... Struck out three and walked four... Tossed 1.0 inning and retired all three hitters faced in first career appearance at Parkside (Mar. 17)... Season long 2.0 innings pitched vs. Southwest Minnesota State (May 2)... Helped Mavericks win NSIC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.

THE MELVIN FILE: A 6-0, 175-lb right-handed pitcher from Frazee, Minn., joined Minnesota State to provide depth for the Mavericks' pitching staff. Melvin was named the 2021 Heart of the Lakes Conference Player of the Year as well as being named first team All-Conference, All-Section for 8AA and All-State for AA. As a member of the Yellowjackets, Melvin was a conference champion as well as the Section 8AA runner-up. While competing with the Yellowjackets and playing summer ball with Perham American Legion, Melvin accumulated a 6-2 record with 67.2 innings of work where he allowed 48 hits, walked 29 and struck out 95 batters. During his last high school season at Perham, Melvin boasted a 1.42 ERA.
