BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Minnesota State freshman
Colton Hush (Woodville, Wisconsin) has been named the NSIC Wrestling Rookie of the Year. Hush wrestled at 141 pounds and was an NCAA National qualifier as a true freshman.
He went 2-2 at the NCAA Championship in Indianapolis last weekend and finished his freshman campaign with a 25-11 overall record, including 4-4 in duals. He recorded nine wins by fall, three by major decision and two by tech fall. He also finished first at the Auggie Invite in the freshman bracket and went 4-3 in NSIC duals this season.
Minnesota State wrestling closed the season 8-5, including 5-4 in NSIC duals. The Mavericks sent three to the NCAA Division II Championships at Corteva Coliseum.
