DEEPHAVEN, Minn. – Minnesota State junior
Adam Eisele (Lake Elmo, Minn.) won CCHA Forward of the Week on Monday. Junior
Ralfs Bergmanis (Liepaja, Latvia) was also named CCHA Defenseman of the Week for his efforts in the CCHA Semifinals against Bemidji State.
Â
Eisele scored two of the Mavericks' four goals to help the Mavericks defeat the Beavers 4-0 at Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. It was his second multi-goal game this season (Ferris State, Jan. 25) and first time this season being awarded Player of the Week.
Â
In his third year at Minnesota State, Eisele has 13 goals (tied for team lead, eighth in CCHA) and 13 assists (fifth) this season for 26 points (third) in 37 games played. His plus-21 rating is tied for third best in the conference. In 105 career games, Eisele has 25 goals, 23 assists and 59 points for the Mavericks. Last season, he was named CCHA Forward of the Month in December.
Â
Bergmanis has been a steady, reliable presence for the Mavericks this season, skating on defense with CCHA Defenseman of the Year
Evan Murr. In 34 games, Bergmanis has three goals, eight assists and 11 points. With two points in the Mason Cup Playoffs, Bergmanis assisted on Eisele's second period goal against Bemidji State by gaining the offensive blue line and finding Eisele on the weak side.
Â
Bergmanis holds a plus-18 rating with 27 blocked shots and a pair of game-winning goals. Bergmanis transferred to MSU from Vermont, where he tallied two goals and 10 assists for the Catamounts in his first season of collegiate hockey. He also played for Latvia at the 2022 World Junior U-20 Championships.
Â
Top-seeded Minnesota State (26-8-3, 18-5-3 CCHA) hosts No. 3 St. Thomas (19-13-5, 13-9-4 CCHA) in the Mason Cup Championship on Friday, March 21 at 7:07 p.m. CT at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Minnesota State captured its ninth MacNaughton Cup title as the top team in the regular season. They pursue their third Mason Cup title against the Tommies.
