BURNSVILLE, Minn. – Fresh off its sixth straight NSIC Indoor Championship last year, Minnesota State was picked to win the NSIC in the preseason women's indoor track & field coaches' poll. The Mavericks received all 14 first place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own team) and tallied 196 points, ranking them ahead of the University of Mary, which was second with 181 points and the other first place vote. Augustana was third with 164 points, while Winona State was fourth with 150 points.

The 2025-26 NSIC Indoor Track & Field season gets underway this weekend with the regular season culminating on Friday-Saturday, February 27-28 at the NSIC Championship held at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minnesota, hosted by Minnesota State University, Mankato. The entire NSIC Indoor Track & Field Championship will air live on the NSIC Network; a day pass can be purchased for $10, while full access to both days of competition is available for $15.00.
Ashanti Harvey (Sprints, Sr., Hollywood, Fla. / Hallandale HS) - Minnesota State
- Placed fourth in 60 meter hurdles at NSIC Indoor Championships with season best time 8.49
- Placed eighth in 200 meters at NSIC Indoor Championships with time of 25.30
- All-American First Team in 100m hurdles with fifth place finish at NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships with a time of 13.37
- All-NSIC in Outdoor 100m Hurdles with a third place time 13.47
"Ashanti returns for her final season, fresh off First Team All-American honors during the outdoor season," said head coach
Mike Turgeon. "She will look to build on that this year and play an integral role in the overall team goal of defending the indoor team championship."

- First Team All-American in long jump at NCAA Division II Indoor Championships with fourth place mark of 6.09m
- First team All-American in pentathlon at NCAA Division II Indoor Championships with score of 4,092 for second place
- All-NSIC in 4x400 - 2nd place at NSIC Championships with time of 3:47.58
- USTFCCCA All-Region in Long Jump & Pentathlon
- Fifth place in 60 meter hurdles at NSIC Championships with time of 8.50 (season best)
"Miranda will be a force this season across all her events," Turgeon said. "Last year she brought multiple All-American honors across the combined events and jump events. As she looks forward to this year, she will compete across many events during the indoor campaign and look to secure national titles come championship season."
Minnesota State men's and women's indoor track and field hosts the Chuck Petersen Open on Friday, December 5 at Myers Field House.
