Malcolm Jones has been named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week for his efforts during MSU's first four games of the season.
A forward from Prior Lake, Minn., Jones averaged 17.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 59.2% from the field. He also notched six blocks and five steals while recording a pair of double-doubles.
Against Northwest Missouri, Jones record 19 points and 10 rebounds, before posting 15 points and 15 rebounds against Pittsburg State. Against Central Missouri, he recorded a career-high 26 points.
Minnesota State continues its season this weekend at the USF Classic in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Mavericks will face Grand Valley State on Friday and Chadron State on Saturday. Tip-offs for both games are scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Stewart Center.
