MOORHEAD, Minn. — The No. 23-ranked Minnesota State volleyball team (22-5, 14-5 NSIC) defeated MSU Moorhead (14-14, 7-12 NSIC) in four sets on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Nemzek Fieldhouse. The Mavericks recorded a hitting percentage of .312 and tallied nine total blocks in the victory.

Jadyn Lester facilitated the offense with 45 assists, setting up numerous scoring opportunities. Sophomore Avery Klein supported defensively with 11 digs while also adding 12 kills and two solo blocks to the team's efforts.

MSU opened the first set with steady momentum, jumping out to a 3-0 lead behind a kill from Avery Rosenberg and an ace from Lester before extending the advantage with strong swings from Klein and Satori. Although MSU Moorhead battled back to tie the score at 9-9, the Mavericks quickly responded with a kill from Satori and continued to regain control through balanced attacking. Key plays from Klein and Rosenberg, along with a timely block from Kern, helped Minnesota State maintain its edge down the stretch, and Klein closed the set with a decisive kill to secure a 25-21 win and set an early tone for the match.

Minnesota State opened the second set with a quick 2-0 lead off a Dragons error and a kill from Satori, followed by a strong stretch from Rosenberg, who added multiple kills to build a 5-1 advantage. The momentum shifted as MSU committed several attack errors, allowing the set to tighten and eventually slip to the home team's side. The Mavericks continued to battle, staying within reach thanks to key swings from Kern and Satori, and later cutting the deficit to 24-21 with a service ace from Satori. Despite the late push, MSU was unable to complete the comeback, dropping the set 25-21.

The Mavericks took control of the third set right away as Satori opened the scoring with a kill off a pass from Lester, sparking a strong offensive stretch from Klein, who delivered multiple key swings to build momentum.Contributions from Kern and Addison Foor, paired with timely capitalization on Dragon errors, helped extend the Mavericks' lead. Midway through the set, consecutive kills from Klein and Kern, along with steady distribution from Lester, widened the gap even further, while Satori added impact plays on both sides of the ball, including a block and several additional kills. MSU maintained complete command through the final points and closed out the set with a kill from Foor, securing a dominant 25-10 victory.

Minnesota State set the tone early in the fourth set, taking advantage of miscues to build a quick 4-0 lead highlighted by a block from Klein and a kill from Satori.
