BURNSVILLE, Minn. --- Minnesota State sophomore Reese Hilsenbeck was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts last weekend with the Mavericks. This marks the fifth straight week that a Maverick has been named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week.

Hilsenbeck played and started in both matches for the Mavericks this past weekend as she logged 101 minutes. The Maverick defense allowed just 10 shots, including six on goal, in their two shutout wins over Southwest Minnesota State (2-0) and Sioux Falls (3-0).

Against SMSU, Hilsenbeck notched three shots, including two on goal. She recorded a shot on goal against USF as well.

Minnesota State returns home for a pair of matches this weekend as its hosts Minnesota Duluth on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Bemidji State on Sunday and 1:00 p.m.
