MANKATO, Minn. --- Top-ranked Ohio State (25-2-0, 22-1-0 WCHA) blanked Minnesota State (10-20-0, 4-19-0 WCHA) by a final of 3-0 Friday evening at the Mayo Clinic HSEC.
All three OSU tallies registered came in the first 20 minutes of play as the Buckeyes jumped on the Mavericks early outshooting MSU 17-5 in the opening period.
MSU settled down for the remaining 40 minutes generating 15 shots on goal compared to top-ranked Ohio State's 16. Freshman
Jenessa Gazdik led the Mavericks' efforts in shutting down OSU's scoring ability accumulating half of MSU's 12 blocks. The Gazdik duo was responsible for eight blocks on the day.

Hailey Hansen registered 30 saves on the day stopping 33 of 30 shots and registering a .909 save percentage against OSU.
"We certainly got stronger as the game went on. We got better defensively giving our offense a spark generating chances," stated head coach
John Harrington. "Tomorrow we need to capitalize on the chances against a good team like Ohio State."
Minnesota State is back in action tomorrow to rematch the top-ranked Ohio State at 2 p.m. from the Mayo Clinic HSEC.
