Four Mavericks Earn Don Hansen All-American Honors

BROOKFIELD, Ill. --- Four Minnesota State football players have received Don Hansen All-American accolades for their effort on the field this past season.

Senior Marshall Foerner was named to the Don Hansen All-American Second team, while seniors Antonio Alzheimer, Gabe Hagen and Khai West received Don Hansen All-American Honorable Mentions.

An offensive lineman from Plano, Ill., Marshall Foerner played and started in 13 games for the Mavericks this past season on the offensive line. As a unit, the Maverick offensive line helped Minnesota State rush for 2,592 yard and 32 touchdowns, while allowing just 18 sacks. This is Foerner's second All-American honor this season. He previously received All-American First Team honors from the AFCA and D2CCA All-Super Region Four First Team honors.

A senior linebacker from Des Moines, Iowa, Antonio Alzheimer led the Mavericks in tackles this season with 109. He is the first Maverick to record more than 100 tackles in a season since the 2014 season. Earlier this season, Alzheimer was named to the All-NSIC First Team and the D2CCA All-Super Region First Team.

A tight end from Blooming Prairie, Minn., Gabe Hagen played in 13 games this season and recorded 45 catches for 541 yards and six touchdowns. He was named to the AP All-American First Team earlier this season as well.

A defensive back from St. Paul, Minn., Khai West played in all 15 games for the Mavericks this season as he finished second on the team in tackles with 73. He also recorded two interceptions and was named to the All-NSIC First Team earlier this season.

Minnesota State finished its 2024 season with an 11-4 record as the Mavericks advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.
