SIOXU FALLS, S.D. --- Minnesota State picked up its third straight win Saturday afternoon as the Mavericks bested Truman State 95-64 at Elman Center.
With the win, MSU improves to 4-4 on the season. With the loss, TSU drops to 4-3 on the season.
"It was a great weekend for our program," head coach 
Matt Margenthaler said. "It was really nice to see our guys feeding off one another and play like the group we know we have."
The early going of the first half saw the Bulldogs build a three-point lead at 12-9, only to see the Mavericks respond with a 12-0 run to go up 21-12. Senior

Carson Schweim each hit a three pointer during that stretch, while sophomore 
Caden Kirkman connected on three free throws.
The hot shooting Mavericks continued to pour it on as they would outscore the Bulldogs 44-14 in the final 11:47 of the half to take a 62-26 lead into halftime.
Nine Mavericks reached the scoring column in the first half, including senior 
Kyreese Willingham who notched 20 points on an 8-of-12 showing from the field. Braudis added 11 points and five rebounds, while Kirkman tallied nine points.
As a unit, MSU shot 21-of-32 (.656) from the field in the first half, including a 9-of-17 (.529) showing from three point range. The Mavericks also scored 18 points off of 10 Truman State turnovers.
Brennan Lovette led the Bulldogs with six points in the first half. As a team, TSU shot 28.6% from the field in the first half, including a 1-of-13 (.077) performance from downtown.
The second half saw the Mavericks lead by more than 20 points throughout as MSU went on to claim the 95-64 win.
In total, 12 Mavericks reached the scoring column against the Bulldogs.
Willingham finished his day with a new career-high in points with 31 as he connected on 12-of-17 shots from the field. Willingham is the first Maverick to score at least 30 points this season and first since his brother 
Malik Willingham scored 30 points against MSU Moorhead last season.
Kirkman finished with 13 points and five rebounds, while Braudis tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Harmon finished with nine points also, while Eagins passed out seven assists.
As a team, MSU shot 56.1% (32-of-57) from the field, including a 14-of-31 (.452) performance from downtown. The Mavericks also hauled in 32 rebounds and passed out 20 assists. In total, MSU recorded 26 points off of 16 TSU turnovers.
Isaiah Reams led the Bulldogs with 14 points and four rebounds, while Xavier Hall added 12 points and three assists.
As a team, TSU shot 23-of-57 (.404) from the field, including a 5-of-26 (.192) showing from three point range. The Bulldogs hauled in 32 rebounds also.
Minnesota State opens the NSIC portion of its schedule next week as it travels to Wayne State on Friday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Rice Auditorium.
