MANKATO, Minn - Minnesota State (2-5-0, 0-5-0) fell to No. 4 Minnesota Duluth (6-3-0, 5-2-0) Friday evening at the Mayo Clinic HSEC.
In the first two minutes of the game, the Bulldogs' Nina Jobst-Smith scored from long range.
Six minutes later, Minnesota Duluth found the back of the net again with Olivia Mobley scoring.
In the 12
th minute, the Bulldogs recorded a third goal for a 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes.
UMD held the 3-0 margin through the first half of the second period until graduate student
Sydney Langseth notched her second goal of the season, assisted by graduate student
Jamie Nelson.
Minnesota Duluth managed to get one more goal in the 7
th minute of the third period.
The Mavericks take on Minnesota Duluth for the second game tomorrow at the Mayo Clinic HSEC at 3:02 p.m.
