#7 Minnesota State Finishes Conference Regular Season Play on the Road

MANKATO, Minn – No. 7 Minnesota State (10-1-5, 9-0-3) travels to Bemidji State (8-4-3, 6-2-3) on Friday at 5 p.m. and Minnesota Crookston (1-12-2, 1-9-1) at 1 p.m. on Sunday finishing out regular season play. Both matchups will be streamed on the NSIC Network.

The Mavericks hosted MSU Moorhead and Northern State this past weekend resulting in a 9-0 shutout over the dragons and a 0-0 tie against the Wolves.

Minnesota State leads the NSIC with 33 goals.

Maddix Archer leads the NSIC individually in goals with eight this season. She has also tallied four assists.

In goal, Clare Longueville is ranked number three in all of Division II for save percentage (.927).

Minnesota State holds a five point lead in the NSIC over second place St. Cloud State and six point lead over Augustana. A win on Friday or Sunday will clinch the NSIC regular season title for the Mavericks. 

Facing Bemidji State:

Heading into this weekend, the Mavericks are 15-4-4 with the Beavers. The last time the two teams met was last fall in Mankato. The Mavericks won 4-0.

Scouting the Beavers:

Bemidji State currently has an 8-4-3 overall record and are sixth in the NSIC. Last weekend, the Beavers were on the road at Wayne State and Augustana. Both games ended in 1-1 ties. Junior Katrina Barthelt leads Bemidji State with eight goals and two assists this season. She sits right under Archer in the NSIC rankings. 

Facing Minnesota Crookston:

MSU is 16-0 against the Golden Eagles. Last season the Mavericks hosted the Golden Eagles, resulting in a 4-0 win for the Mavericks.

Scouting the Golden Eagles:

Minnesota Crookston has a 1-12-2 overall record. Last weekend the Golden Eagles were on the road as they traveled to Augustana and Wayne State. They lost to Augustana 3-0 and lost to Wayne state 5-0. Junior Sarah Burgum and Senior Brooklyn Fischbach lead Minnesota Crookston both tallying two goals this season.
