Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State (10-13-0, 4-12-0 WCHA) fell to No. 8 St. Cloud State (14-7-1, 9-6-1 WCHA) by a final of 4-2 Saturday afternoon at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
After the Mavericks found themselves down a pair of tallies heading into the season period, Minnesota State found its footing by seeing goals from Junior
MacKenzie Bourgerie (3) and sophomore
Whitney Tuttle (9) in the second frame.
Senior
Sydney Langseth collected her team-leading 14th assist and 24th point on Tuttle's tally now registering a point in nine of the last eleven games.
After SCSU regained the lead late in the second, the Huskies sealed the victory with a third-period goal.
"We did a great job getting back into the game going down two in the first period," stated head coach
John Harrington. "We need to be able to generate a few more chances in the third period but overall, our team made great strides this weekend in getting to who we want to be as a club."
Freshman
Hailey Hansen got her second straight call in between the pipes going 1-1 on the weekend registering a 2.00 goals-against average paired with a .875 save percentage.
Minnesota State is back in action Friday as they host No. 3 Wisconsin with action starting at 6 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic HSEC.
