OWATONNA, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team picked up its eighth straight win as the Mavericks defeated Southwest Minnesota State 6-1.
With the win, MSU improves to 10-1 on the season, including a 7-1 NSIC record. With the loss, SMSU drops to 4-14, including a 3-6 conference record.
The Mavericks swept the three doubles matches to secure the first point of the dual.

Avery Stilwell defeated Courtenay Leonard and Gabriela Almeida 6-4 in the No. 1 doubles match, while senior
Chiara Carnelutti and sophomore
Freia Lawrence defeated Faith Madikwe and Roz Oye 6-0 in the No. 2 doubles match. Sophomore

McKenna DeMarce earned a 7-6 (8-6) win over Joana Reis Indio and Camila Paccieri also.
Minnesota State finished the day winning five of the six singles matches to secure the 6-1 win.
Page defeated Leonard 6-1, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles match, while Lawrence posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Almeida in the No. 2 singles match. Carnelutti added a 6-2, 6-3 win over Reis Indio in the No. 3 singles match, while Stilwell bested Madikwe 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles match. Freshman
Daria Podmogilnaia notched a 6-3, 6-1 win over Paccieri in the No. 5 singles match also.
Minnesota State continues its season on Tuesday as it takes on St. Cloud State in Owatonna, Minn. The dual is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
