SIOUX FALLS, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women's tennis team fell to Augustana 4-0 in the finals of the NSIC Tournament Sunday afternoon.
With the loss, MSU finishes its season with a 15-2 record. With the win, AU improves to 20-3.
The Vikings began the day winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the first point of the dual.
Senior
Lois Page and sophomore
Avery Stilwell fell to Flore Hadjigeorgiou and Aleksandra Kistanova 6-1 in the No. 1 doubles match before freshman
McKenna DeMarce and sophomore
Elizabeth Felderman defeated Senem Ocal and Emily Granson 6-4 in the No. 3 doubles match. AU then managed to win the No. 2 doubles match as Laura Arce Vieyra Gabriela Jancikova defeated sophomore
Freia Lawrence and senior
Chiara Carnelutti 6-3 to win the doubles point.
Augustana then won the first three singles matches to secure the 4-0 win.
Jancikova defeated DeMarce 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 6 singles match, before Arce Vieyra bested Stilwell 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 4 singles match. Margarita Chouliara then defeated freshman
Daria Podmogilnaia 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 5 singles match to secure the 4-0 win for Augustana.
The No. 1 single match between Hadjigeorgiou and Page, the No. 2 singles match between Ocal and Lawrence and the No. 3 singles match between Kistanova and Carnelutti went unfinished.
