Davenport, Fla. --- Minnesota State (8-3, 0-0 NSIC) pulled off the win against Seton Hill University with a final of 2-1.
Junior
Ryan Wickman led off the third inning with a single opening the door for fellow junior outfielder
Jackson Hauge. Hauge smashed a ball to right center resulting in an RBI triple to give the Mavericks the 1-0 lead.
Seton Hill would steal back the run in the top of the fourth evening things at one.
In the ninth inning, Freshman
Louis Magers reached on a single through the left side while then advancing to third on a wild pitch one batter later. Junior
Ryan Wickman knocked Magers in on a fielder's choice collecting the game-winning RBI.
Senior
Chandler Fochs (2-1) notched his second win as a Mavericks doing so while pitching his first complete game in the purple and gold. Chandler surrendered one run on eight hits while accumulating eight strikeouts on the day.
Ian Korn (0-1) was tagged with the loss after going a third of an inning allowing one run on one hit.
The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow to take on Wilmington University in Auburndale, Fla. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. EST.
