SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Minnesota State (17-5, 7-1 NSIC) piled on the runs against Bemidji State (2-23, 1-9 NSIC) winning both games by finals of 17-1 and 18-4.
The last time the Mavericks scored 35 runs in a doubleheader was against Bemidji after scoring a combined 51 runs on April 11th, 2015.
The Mavericks took advantage of the Beavers' mistakes scoring seven runs on the day on either walks or wild pitches. Through both games, the Beavers staff accumulated 15 walks, eight hit batters, and eight wild pitches.
The Mavericks jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the third without recording a hit.

Tanner Thompson to the plate as a pinch hitter for his second collegiate at-bat. The freshman launched his first homer and first collegiate hit 425 feet over the left field wall extending the Mavericks' lead to 11.

Louis Magers (1-0) notched the win for the Mavericks going five innings allowing no runs on three hits while compiling seven strikeouts.
Derek Hoffman (0-2) got tagged with the loss going two and two-thirds of an inning surrendering four runs on two hits.
The Mavericks picked up where they left off offensively in the bottom of the second scoring 14 out of their 18 runs scored.

Louis Magers launched his first collegiate homer to give the Mavericks a two-run lead.
Junior
Nick Baker kept the inning going after taking his fourth hit-by-pitch of the day. Baker now leads the team in hit-by-pitches after getting plunked eight times in four games.
Fleishhacker moved Baker to third base with his second single on the day before junior
Mikey Gottschalk singled to right field moving Fleishhacker to second and scoring Baker.

Jackson Hauge launched a three-run shot for his second homer on the season extending the Mavericks' lead by six. After a Schneider walk, sophomore
Aidan Byrne launched his second on the day and third of the season giving the Mavericks their eighth tallies of the game.

Taisei Yahiro (2-0) notched the win for the Mavericks going three innings allowing no runs on three hits and striking out five.
Isaiah Biehn (0-4) got tagged with the loss going an inning and two-thirds surrendering nine runs on eight hits.
The Mavericks are back in action next Saturday as they take on the University of Mary.
