Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State freshman forward Taylor Otremba has been selected to the WCHA All-Rookie Team the league announced Thursday afternoon. 

In doing so, Otremba becomes the eighth Maverick to earn a spot on the league's all-rookie team and the first since junior Jamie Nelson was selected as a WCHA All-Rookie Team selection in 2021.  She is the fourth active Maverick to have earned a spot on the WCHA All-Rookie Team, joining Nelson, senior Calla Frank, senior Kelsey King, and senior Anna Wilgren.  Additionally, Otremba is the sixth Maverick under head coach John Harrington to have earned a spot on the All-Rookie team.

Otremba has accumulated 20 points (8-12--20) this season while notching three game-winning goals for the Mavericks. Though the middle of November until the winter break, Otremba registered a six-game scoring streak going 5-2--7, a span in which she scored a goal in five consecutive games.

In Minnesota State's win at Lindenwood Jan. 6, Otremba recorded her first multi-goal game as she the night, 2-3--5.  

The Lakeville, Minn., native was most recently the January WCHA Rookie of the Month along with three WCHA Rookie of the Week selections this season.

Otremba and the Mavericks travel to Wisconsin to battle against sixth-ranked Wisconsin in the WCHA Quarterfinals this weekend. The best-of-three series opens Friday at 7 p.m.
