Minnesota State Falls to St. Cloud State

Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State (15-17-1, 9-17-1 WCHA) fell to St. Cloud State by a final score of 6-3.

Junior forward Jamie Nelson grabbed the early first period lead for the Mavericks while Maverick goaltender Lauren Barbro stopped all 14 shots in the first period holding a 1-0 lead heading into the first period.
St. Cloud State owned the second period scoring four unanswered goals. Head coach John Harrington pulled Barbro late in the second period resulting in senior Alexa Berg remaining in net for the reminded of the game.
Minnesota State clawed its way back in the third period after a pair of goals from the sticks of Senior Kelsey King and Junior Madison Mashuga.
The Maverick resurgence fell short after a St. Cloud empty-net goal sealed the game for the Huskies.
Junior goaltender Lauren Barbro stopped 21 of 25 shots faced while senior goaltender Alexa Berg stopped 7 of 8 shots faced.
The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow for their regular season finale at 3:00 in St. Cloud.
