Minnesota State Handles Beavers Sweeping Weekend.

Mankato, Minn.--- Minnesota State's Alexa Berg rises to sixth in all-time career shutouts as she helped the Mavericks secure a 4-0 victory over Bemidji State Saturday afternoon at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.
The Mavericks (15-16-1 9-16-1) were held to eight shots after a scoreless first period. Minnesota State hammered home its first on the day courtesy of sophomore Shelbi Guttormson's snipe over the left shoulder of the BSU goaltender for her fourth goal on the season at the 1:12 mark of the second period.
Only four minutes later, The Mavericks struck twice just 17 seconds apart. Kennedy Bobyck buried a break-a-way goal for her fifth of the season while Brooke Bryant notched her sixth of the season.
Senior Kelsey King finished the second-period scoring onslaught as she danced around Bemidji defenders grabbing her team-leading 13th on the season.
Kelsey King has moved into second in all-time career goals surpassing Brittyn Fleming (2017-22) with 45.
Senior Alexa Berg stopped all 22 shots faced for her fourth shutout on the season while improving to 8-7-1 on the season.
The Mavericks travel to St. Cloud to wrap up the regular season on February 17-18 for an important series for playoff positioning. The puck drops at 6 p.m. Friday.
