Columbus, Ohio --- Minnesota State (7-11-0, 3-10-0 WCHA) fell to No. 1 Ohio State (15-2-0, 12-1-0 WCHA) by a final of 6-1 Saturday night at the OSU Ice Rink.
The Mavericks challenged the top program in the nation early as Minnesota State matched the Buckeyes in shots with twelve in the first period.
Despite the opportunities, the Mavericks found themselves in a 3-0 hole heading into the second period. OSU was able to keep up the offensive pressure tallying two more in the second period extending its margin to five.
After going down by six at the 12:30 mark of the third period, Sophomore
Kianna Roeske responded with her first goal on the season and second goal of her career to steal a shutout away from OSU's goaltender Raygan Kirk. Junior

The Mavericks are back in action tomorrow as they rematch the Buckeyes at 1 p.m. CST back at the OSU Ice Rink.
