Tee It Up: Minnesota State men's golf team concludes the fall portion of its schedule next week as it travels to Broken Arrow, Okla., to participate in the Tulsa Cup at The Club at Indian Springs. The event opens with a 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Saturday.
Who's All There: Other teams joining Minnesota State at the event include: Central Missouri, Wayne State, Augustana, Sioux Falls, Northeastern State University, Arkansas Tech, Southwest Oklahoma State, Newman, Northwestern Oklahoma State, William Jewell, Missouri Western State, Lincoln, Arkansas-Monticello, Southern Arkansas and Fort Hays State.
About the Course: The Club at Indian Springs is a par-72 course that plays to 6,932 yards. The course has a couple of scoring opportunities early as two of the first par fives are in the first three holes. There are also four par three holes on the track.

About Schmitz: Head Coach Alex Schmitz is in his third year as head coach of the men's golf program and his second as the Director of Golf at Minnesota State.
Preseason Picks: The Minnesota State men's golf team was picked fourth in the 2023-24 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Winona State gathered five first-place votes and was picked as the preseason favorite, followed by Bemidji State and Concordia-St. Paul. Just 13 votes separated the top four teams, while 15 votes separated the Mavericks and fifth-place Minnesota, Crookston.
Last Time Out: Minnesota State finished third at the Missouri Western Holiday Inn Express classic with a 299-282-283--864.
Through Five Events: Minnesota State has played five events this year, winning two. The Mavericks are averaging a 291 per 18 holes this fall.

Belka added a 69 in the opening day of the Bemidji State Invitational as he shot a 69-74--143 to finish one over and tied for second...At the Missouri Western Holiday Inn Express Classic he shot a 75-70-71--216 which was three over par and good for a tie for 14th...For his career, Belka has played in 35 rounds and has four top-five finishes, owning a career scoring average of 74.6... About Bradley: Junior Alex Bradley shot a 74-70--144 which was tied for seventh at the Maverick Invite... The 70 is a career-low round... About Brud: Sophomore Max Brud turned in a pair of 71s to finish with a 142, good for a third-place tie at the Maverick Invite...
