BROKEN ARROW, Okla. --- The Minnesota State men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Tulsa Cup in fifth place Monday.
The three-round Tulsa Cup is being held at the par-72 Indian Springs Country Club. The Mavericks posted scores of 285-287—527 (-4). Central Missouri leads the overall team standings with scores of 279-278—557 (-19). Harding's Dennis Staykov leads the individual standings after two rounds with scores of 66-69—135 (-9).
Senior
Hogan Ordal led the Mavericks after day one as he finished in a tie for second place with scores of 68-69—137 (-7). Ordal notched eight birdies and one of the 10 eagles on the day.
Sophomore
Michael Johnson finished the day at even par as he shot a 69-75—144. He notched six birdies, including four during his opening round. Freshman
Paul Rezko finished the day in 39th place as he shot a 74-72—146 (+2), which included six birdies.
Juniors
Karson Patten and
Jack Schrader each finished one stroke behind Rezko at +3. Patten and Schrader both shot scores of 74-73—147. Patten notched five birdies, while Schrader recorded four.
